62-year-old Anne came to see me for a pain in her left heel in 2011. The pain had been there for several months and was gradually getting worse. The doctor said it was called plantar fasciitis but couldn't offer any effective treatment. As a keen dog trainer and walker, Anne was very annoyed and took a friend's suggestion to try acupuncture. I used two points in her foot and applied electro-acupuncture and moxabustion. She only had two sessions then went to hospital for another problem. 16 months later she came back to see me for a pain in her elbow and said to me:“You did a brilliant job for my heel pain last time. The pain disappeared after the two sessions of acupuncture. When I told my doctor about it he was very surprised, because normally plantar fasciitis is very slow to heal.”
