71-year-old musician Christine had developed a trigger finger from enthusiastic violin practising. The ring finger on her left hand was hurting and got stuck in a very bent position. She couldn't straighten it even with the help from the other hand. Her elbow and shoulder hurt as well. On physical exam I found tension in her neck and shoulder. So I did acupuncture and moxabustion in her neck, shoulder and forearm. When came back a week later, she was so amazed that her finger was already straight, although it still felt stiff. I did the same treatment in the second session. When she came back the following week, she said her finger was back to normal and asked for a treatment for a tension in her back.
